Why Choose A Mobile Notary?

Let’s face it…everyone needs something notarized at some point during their lives. Anything from field trip permission forms, college documents, purchase of a vehicle, business transactions, etc. (You get the point by now).

A Mobile Notary is all about convenience. You do not have to ask your boss for time off, cancel doctor’s appointment(s), etc. just to rush to the bank and realize that they don’t do what you need, or are already closed.

Convenience does come at a cost, though. Most Mobile Notaries charge a travel fee in addition to their notary fees. If it is at odd hours, a dangerous location, or a difficult location to access, there may be a convenience fee as well.

The price will fluctuate from state to state, even from city to city. The average price is between $2 and $20 per signature. There are a few states that do not have a set fee schedule (Tennessee is one of these states). The rest of the states do have set fees that a notary can charge you. Be sure to check with your own Secretary of State for the allowable fees.

The travel fee is used to help offset the wear and tear on the notary’s vehicle, the increased insurance, and the always rising cost of fuel. The travel fees are not meant to gauge the clients, or to even ‘get rich’. Some notaries charge per mile, while others choose a set travel fee per city, county or location.

So please, treat your notaries well and they will be available when you need them.

Until next time, stay safe and enjoy life!!

The Real Estate Process and Roles

In a real estate transaction, there are A LOT of moving pieces! You have the borrower(s), real estate agent/realtor, a financial lender (bank/credit union) for most of America, the title company, and Notary Signing Agent. We are going to dive right in and explain the rights and responsibilities of each of these individuals.

Benefits Of A Outside Notary

Yes, there is. Simply put, they have no skin in the game. They don’t care one way or another if Client 1 and Client 2 are friends, enemies, or otherwise. They are simply at the venue to ensure that all parties involved are who they claim to be, everyone understands the general idea of what they are agreeing to (in writing), and no one feels pressured or intimidated to sign/initial the documents before them.

Does My Business Need A Notary?

The short answer is no, you are not legally required to have most business documents notarized. No matter what most online forums, message boards or search engines may tell you.
